Probably a good idea to keep them penned up for awhile. Sometimes the predator will move onto another place if they can't get at the prey. Sometimes we completely remove our sheep to a field a few miles away. It takes the coyotes awhile to find them again. But they always do. <br />Not easy - I know. But that's life with animals. Someone is always prey.Kristin Nicholashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09038900681076035087noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-570325105196629673.post-15096606300553907622011-10-03T11:10:34.163-07:002011-10-03T11:10:34.163-07:00Poor Max. Something similar happened to our Kiefer years ago - He & Max had a fav bank of the pond and I don't think he ever visited the "beach" site after the attack again. We got him 2 new playmates but they turned out to be very snobbish and walked away as soon as my back was turned... thankfully Kiefer didn't follow them. Got him another playmate or two and that helped him tremendously. Before his new friends he would just sit and do absolutely nothing. So sad. Hope you find your Max a new friend & that he's happily swimming in the pond again real soon!Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09273756949983982912noreply@blogger.com
